Oh, For the Love of SL

Oh, Anya Ohmai, how you have made my heart sing with your delicate yet strong line of amazing Silhouettes! This line epitomizes the very type of clothing I have been longing for since I was rezzed. I cannot even describe it. It’s lovely to the nth power!

I’m going to show you my 2 favorite of the 5 outfits in this blog post, and hopefully will be able to sneak in the other 3 in another post.

First up is the Contour outfit. If you Google the definition of the word Glamazon in the dictionary, you will surely find this outfit pictured.

The jacket is textured sculpty perfection with a telltale ring of black roses used as a collar that makes this design so obviously Ohmai.

The shading on the body suit that comes with this outfit is perfect and manages to show off the shape of the body without making me feel as if I should apply to be the next member of the Legion of Super-Heroes.

The 2nd outfit from the Silhouettes line is called “Light” and is my definite favorite from the line. This dress is akin to Anya Ohmai’s previous lines with feminine touches and a quirky skirt shape that puts it in a unique spot in this shape themed line.

You may notice that in these pictures I am wearing the newest line of skins from Lelutka, Estelle. Honest truth, I never cared for the skins from Minnu’s line of work before now. I felt that the faces on her other skin lines were too strong and made me look mostly like a bratty bitch, but Estelle has a more delicate look to it that portrays a strong but delicate face that I tend to look for when looking for a new skin. Good job Minnu! I think you’ve got a winner here.

The holidays are definitely my favorite time of the year. I get to do all of my favorite things, like shopping, baking, eating and hanging out with friends, but my absolute favorite thing about this time of the year are the parties.

For holiday parties I normally get a little more spruced up than normal with shiny glitter and warm furs. Typically, in RL I’ll be bundling up in huge coats and warm pants with long johns underneath. The weather really stifles outfit creativity where I live. The fun part about Second Life is that you can still wear your short super hot short skirt even when it’s snowing!

I’ve been popular. I’ve been lonely. I’ve met lifelong friends. I’ve lost good friends to drama. I’ve made and sold shoes and earrings in SL. I even owned a modeling agency for a while. I’ve done a lot in those 562 days.

But I have never blogged until now.

I spend what time I can in SL putting together outfits and taking photos of myself. I do it for fun and relaxation. For me, it’s not about looking the prettiest, it’s about finding the right balance of hair, skin, accessories and clothing to create an outfit to suit my mood (and I’m a Cancer sign, I have a lot of different moods). I use fashion to materialize my emotions into an outfit so then I have a visual field of my muddled thoughts. I do this a lot, and then I hoard the photos in a little picture viewer thingy in my skybox as a personal homage to SL fashion. Well, I used to, until I sent one of those pictures to a friend.

And she asked me this: “So, why haven’t you started a fashion blog yet?”

She makes sense.
